Univerity College London

I work clinically as a doctor (Junior Clinical Fellow) in the UCLH Department of Critical Care and as a PhD student within the tech4health CDT at UCL Clinically, my interests lie in acute care and anaesthetics, with plans to pursue a training number in anaesthetics.

Academically, I work within the UCL Health Algorithm Laboratory and SAFEHR supervised by Steve Harris and Matthew Wilson. My research interests revolve around how we can better understand and leverage the vast amount of health data produced daily into actionable evidence to help deliver better and safer care for patients.

Opioids represent a key pillar of pain treatment but carry significant risks. I hope to better understand how we treat surgical pain, uncover opportunities, and design strategies that will reduce risks for the millions of patients undergoing surgery each year.

I aim to employ a range of analytical techniques, including retrospective causal inference, predictive ML, and interventional science, to ensure success in bringing change to the patient’s bedside.

Outside of work, I spent much of my time coxing for Cambridge University Boat Club and racing a Boat Race or two whilst balancing my studies. Having hung up my coxbox, I am now using my trainers for more than sitting in the ninth seat and can be found pounding the pavements around Westminster and Hyde Park.
